Class Experience

This class will introduce learners to some of the most varied vertebrates that live on the planet: snakes! We will investigate this group of animals that are sometimes misunderstood and feared and learn why they are actually amazing and helpful to humans. We will discuss the body structure of snakes, and cool adaptations like camouflage.

We will look at snake behavior to see why they do what they do: Do snakes have friends? Can snakes coordinate a group hunt? We will address fears and misconceptions about snakes, using information from the most recent scientific research. We will also discuss what we can do to help conserve these wonderful creatures and keep them safe in the wild.
